Colfax County Technology

One area that I will work on, if elected, is the technology that is in use by our county government. I hear that the internet in the county building may be slow which is a major stumbling block to implementing technology platforms. This must be tackled before other technologies like OpenGov, web based ERP, effective public communications tools and resource tracking can be taken advantage of.

I know that money is in short supply and that it will be made worse do to the COVID-19 shut down. But in my career in both industry and government I have seen that investments in technology can have significant returns on investment. It can be hard to implement but once implemented it can lead to more efficient processing. I have the experience and knowledge on what it takes to make these changes and will work with the county staff to improve the use of technology.

The benefit to the tax payer is faster access to information and services which leads to a more informed constituency. Knowledge is power in the business of government.
